“Ellery’s never been to Echo Ridge, but she’s heard all about it.
It’s where her aunt went missing at age sixteen, never to return.
Where a Homecoming Queen’s murder five years ago made national news.
And where Ellery now has to live with a grandmother she barely knows, after her failed-actress mother lands in rehab.
Malcolm grew up in the shadow of the Homecoming Queen’s death.
His older brother was the prime suspect and left Echo Ridge in disgrace.
His mother’s remarriage vaulted them to Echo Ridge’s upper crust, but it could all change when mysterious threats around town hint that a killer plans to strike again.
And the return of Malcolm’s brother doesn’t help matters. But his return is just a coincidence… isn’t it?
Ellery and Malcolm both know it’s hard to let go when you don’t have closure.
Then another girl disappears.
As they race to unravel what happened, they realise every secret has layers in Echo Ridge. The truth might be closer to home than either of them want to believe. “

Two word review: Called it.
Ok, this was amazing. I love that its a thriller but its also a teen book so its not super creepy or scary .. (yes I’m a wuss).
The book is written from two different perspectives, Ellery’s and Malcom’s, and it does not disappoint. Right from the get go this book will grab your attention and you won’t want to put it down because its so exciting. I was constantly on edge, my mind racing to keep up and try to figure on what the hell was happening, who was it, whats going on and how do i get to Echo Ridge to join Ellery and Malcom.
Karen McManus is an amazing writer and her style is so captivating. I would defiantly recommend you go and buy this book to read, especially if you kind of like mystery and thrillers but don’t like them scary, like me haha!
My two word review “called it” because theres an amazing twist but i called it from the beginning HOWEVER that is not the only twist and boy did the other twist leave me shook. YES. Go get this book!
